With a centralized location between Dallas and Oklahoma City, WinStar World Casino has grown to be the second largest casino resort in the world. It also has one of the most interesting themes.
The casino floor is separated into different themed environments featuring the most popular cites in the world. Lorenc+Yoo Design partnered with Hnedak Bobo Group to develop the casino’s London and Paris areas. The spaces feature two restaurants, a bakery, a nightclub, and a new main arrival portal that sets the stage for how patrons experience the casino.
This new main entry is designed to feel like a London train station and is the starting point for the visitor experience. Visitors notice quickly a 40 foot-long video board displaying directional information and marketing graphics.
In the Paris area, you’re taken to a Parisian street corner with street side dining, fountains, and, of course, a bakery. Lorenc+Yoo developed large, ornate identity signage, custom mosaics, art nouveau lighting, and even an information kiosk taken straight from the streets of Paris.
Each venue required its own look and feel while also keeping the wayfinding program standard. Lorenc+Yoo developed standard interior wayfinding and identity program first introduced the London area, but later applied in all of the destination city areas.
In addition to the theming of the interior, Lorenc+Yoo worked with the casino to develop an exterior wayfinding program to reroute new and seasoned visitors to the main north entry. This was no easy task as the programming needed to take into account the habits of returning gamers, needs of new visitors, and the flexibility of the signage to adapt as the casino expands.
And expand it has. Today, Lorenc+Yoo is continuing to assist with new gaming areas, renovations, and the addition of more hotel development.
