The motto of the Children’s Museum of South Carolina in Myrtle Beach is ”Learn, Play, Explore.” These goals have become the guiding principles behind the design of its new 65,000 square foot facility, located on a prominent corner of the beach’s entertainment district. Museum directors chose Myrtle Beach-based architectural design firm Pegram Associates, Inc. to craft the structure, while Lorenc+Yoo was charged with the museum exhibit design – creating an expressive and stimulating environment for children. Lorenc+Yoo created the tree house, nature center, life-sized shrimp boat, turtle pool and more to provide a dynamic learning environment that stays true to the museum’s South Carolina roots.
